Custom Forging
Manufacturers and Suppliers of Orifice Flanges in Various types of custom Forged Components. We make Hand Tool Forgings, Custom Tee-Bolts, Automotive & Engine Components, Agricultural, Lawn, and Garden Forgings, Custom Tow Eyes & Rigging Hardware, Mechanical Power Transmission Components, Military Components ect. and more.
Werner Flanges Inc. is a known stockist unit of Custom Forging, which shows considerable effect on the physical and mechanical features. We make Hand Tool Forgings, which are often used for Pressure Vessels, Condensers, and Heat Exchangers. Our Custom Tee-Bolts are also often used for Boat Hulls, Salt Water Pipe Fittings, Tube Sheet for Salt Water Service, Salt Water Piping Systems, and more. These Automotive & Engine Components are as well used in Hot Water Tanks, Salt Water Piling Wrap, Salt Water Baffles, Ship Hulls, Propeller Sleeves, Water Hoses, etc. Properties of Agricultural, Lawn, and Garden Forgings vary with composition, however, some properties of copper nickel alloys are outlined below. Such Custom Tow Eyes & Rigging Hardware used in Heat Exchangers & Condensers play a vital role in all industrial fields.
Mechanical Power Transmission Components offers good formability that allows ease of flaring and bending, where the metal cost is greater than that of steel alternatives. Military Components are very attractive in view of its extra life, trouble-free installation and safety/reliability characteristics. Impression Die Forging is specified for both naval and offshore applications such as bolting, fasteners, valves and shafts.
In clean oxygenated seawater, Open Die Forging has remarkable resistance to uniform and localized corrosion. We are recognized as Manufacturers and Suppliers of Orifice Flanges in Various types of custom Forged Components, which have comparatively double the yield strength of standardized austenitic steel grades.
What Are the Types of Forging?

Impression Die Forging
In this process (also called closed die), the metal is pressed between two (or more) dies containing a profile of the desired part. The metal is shaped by the contours on the dies. This process is suitable for parts ranging from a few ounces to 60,000 pounds.
This process is best suited for producing parts that are smaller in size and in higher quantities and do not have difficult mechanical property requirements.
Our closed die forging process capabilities include
Item | Specification |
---|---|
Minimum Inside Diameter | 5″ |
Maximum Outside Diameter | 10″ to 19″ |
Maximum Thickness | Contact Weldaloy to Discuss |

Open Die Forging
For this type of forging, the dies have non-specific profiles. The workpiece is moved to create the desired shape between the dies. Open-die forging can be used on parts over 200,000 pounds in weight and 80 feet in length.
Open die forging is the oldest method of metal working known to man. Also known as hand forging, smith forging, hammer forging, and flat-die forging, open die forging has considerably evolved over the span of hundreds of years as technology and machinery has advanced.
Reasons why open die forging can be the preferred forging method for certain projects include
- Parts that are too large to be produced by other manufacturing methods
- Parts that require mechanical properties that cannot be achieved by other metal forming methods
- Orders that have a small quantity requirement that wouldn’t justify tooling costs
- Orders that involve a short delivery requirement, and wouldn’t allow time to make proper tooling

Rolled Rings Forgings
Seamless Rolled Rings can be produced using an open die forging method or on a ring rolling mill. Seamless rings are extremely durable and are overall stronger rings because they generate circumferential grain structures, and they have no welded seam to fail.
Seamless rolled rings are commonly used in several different industrial applications. Seamless rolled ring parts are used for bearings, clutches, flanges, gears and connectors, valves and much more.
Seamless Rolled Ring Capabilities
We provide seamless rolled ring forgings with a variety of metals, including stainless steel, titanium, copper, and various nickel-based superalloys.

Forging Capabilities
At Werner, we are committed to dedicating the time, energy, and resources needed to continually grow our understanding of the science and methods behind forged products.
Over the last decade, Werner Specialty Forgings has focused on expanding our capabilities to improve our processes. To reduce development time for our clients, Werner has put in place a solid pre-production process that includes forging simulations. Our forging simulation verifies that our forging abilities and customer requirements can be met before the order is placed. This ultimately decreases production time, material waste, and allows for a quicker order turnaround for our clients!
